We are proud to announce that Azhee took part in the 33rd World Congress of the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), held in Vienna, Austria in 10-13 June 2025.
As Iraq’s first and only lived experience-led organization for suicide prevention, this was a powerful opportunity to share our story, connect with global experts, and highlight the unique challenges and strengths of working in a post-conflict setting.
Azhee presented a digital poster on our community-based model, led by survivors and rooted in art, peer support, and advocacy. Participating in this global platform not only strengthened our vision—it also opened doors for future collaboration, training, and the long-term development of sustainable suicide prevention strategies in Iraq.
We are grateful to IASP for including our voice and reaffirm our commitment to building hope, resilience, and healing across our communities.
