Azhee is honored to share that the story of Taba, the beloved son of our founder Pakhshan Bibani, was featured during a key segment of the regional conference “Between Scarred Landscapes and Safe Havens: Visualizing the Future of MHPSS in the Middle East”, held in Amman on May 13–14, 2025.
As part of GIZ’s presentation on the 10-year journey of MHPSS in the region, Taba’s story was presented through a video that captured not only the profound personal loss but also the beginning of a movement—Azhee—dedicated to healing, advocacy, and hope.
We are grateful that his memory continues to inspire and shape conversations about suicide prevention, lived experience, and the urgent need for compassionate mental health policies in Iraq and across the region.
Taba’s story is not only one of loss—it is one of transformation, resilience, and purpose.
